CELINE PAGNIEZ
Céline Pagniez founded the company, where she develops a poetic world and explores hybrid forms. As both a creator and performer in the company’s different projects, Céline Pagniez enjoys collaborating with a wide range of artists.
My desire to explore my own dramaturgy led me to create Compagnie El Caracol. Through my training and stage explorations, my artistic world has gradually developed around visual theatre.
Social themes such as housing, transmission and intergenerational relationships provide starting points for my artistic research. I like to begin with emotions and sensations, and then develop them through materials, sound and bodies. My work seeks to shift “my reality” towards a poetics of space and illusion.
Trained in the dramaturgical approaches of Mary Underwood and Philippe Genty with Compagnie Mots de Tête, and in new magic at the French National Centre for Circus Arts, CNAC.

“For Lecoq, the body has the capacity to provide access to a hidden world of sensations, flavours and impressions. It rediscovers everything the body has retained from its sensory experiences. From these buried layers emerge the profound impulses of its expression, because nature is our first language. And the body remembers. The actor thus learns that everything reverberates through something else, and this principle of analogy makes the actor a translator of the invisible.”
